The Irish Chiropodists/Podiatrists Organisation was founded at a meeting in Wynn's Hotel, Dublin in September 1972.
While the Organisation and others have progressed to higher skills such as nail surgery and biomechanics, which are more appropriate to private practice, the National Executive are adamant that the Chiropody/Podiatry profession must regard the Public Health sector which includes the elderly as a priority treatment category of patients.
The Head Office operates on a full time basis and is manned by both the General and Administration Secretaries, based at Ballincollig, Co. Cork.
